What are the advantages of working from home?

It is an open secret that the "Work from Home" concept is gaining popularity by the day both at corporate level as well as individual level. It makes it very apparent that there are certain obvious advantages attached with this concept as compared to the normal work from office. However, before we jump into discussing as to what are the advantages of working from home, we first need to understand the basic things:

a) The type of work more suitable for work from home. b) The skill sets required to succeed here.

a) Below is the list of work more suitable for work from home.

i) Customer Service. ii) Consultancy Services & Professional services such accountancy, tax planning, investment planning, HR planning, market strategies etc... iii) Writing, translation, editing etc. iv) Data entries for online marketing. v) Other administrative like managing of inbox etc...

b) The skill sets required to succeed here.

i) Good at multi-tasking : Working at home exposes you to your family members who would behave differently from your colleagues during your office hours. Despite setting ground rules about the expected behavior from your family members during your working, it is pretty normal to see things deviating every now and then and you would be required to contribute to manage family issues which u had not planned for the day. Here, your multi-tasking skills comes to the fore and helps you maintain the same level of energy while doing more than one activity simultaneously.

ii) Self sufficiency: At office you always have the privilege of getting help from your peers and your seniors when you get stuck somewhere. It is also easier to explain your problem to them by either going to their desk or calling them to your desk to show the problems that you are facing in your task. In nutshell, you have to self sufficient in your work to maintain a good speed while working from home.

iii) Motivation: As you are the boss yourself, you have to set your own targets. Normally you work in isolation oblivious of the environment of competition one normally finds in an office environment. Hence, the individual has to be highly motivated to sustain the level of quality of service or work.

iv) Time management and self-discipline: As discussed earlier when one works from home one is expected to manage her work time around her other priorities. One has to have enough self discipline to monitor herself and her pending work.

v) Communication:Normally, when one works in an office it is easier
