So your boyfriend is completely obsessed with football. And so on weekends during the fall, you feel somewhat lonely. You are in the same room, but you cannot get his attention. You may as well be alone.

Or you are single and you are at a party to watch your college alma mater play. It's crowded and you spot a great looking guy. But he has eyes only for the game! What can you do? How can you meet him?

Below are a few simple tips for how to the attention of a man during a football game.

* Learn to enjoy football

Your first step should be to learn about the game of football. And learn to enjoy it.

Otherwise, you should not strive for a guy's attention during a football game. After all, why would you spend your time watching a sports events if you have no interest in it?

And, no, your answer should not be: to meet a guy! That is ingenuous and is not likely to lead to good results.

So learn to enjoy football so you are in this situation for yourself. And that will give you a common interest with any man you may encounter in this way.

* Talk shop

Guys love to talk football. So what better way to get a man's attention during a game than to talk shop.

Talk about the plays. Ask questions about certain calls. Guys are extremely impressed if a girl blurts out "holding" when the flag is thrown. And they like a girl who understands what "roughing the kicker" means.

Talking shop is probably the best tactic to take. Any guy who likes football will talk about it. And by asking some questions, you will give a guy a chance to show off some of his football knowledge.

He will not realize that you are trying to get his attention. After all, you have engaged him in a language that is dear to his heart.

* Cheer for your team

If you are at a sports bar and want to get someone's attention, be animated and cheer for your team. Give a guy a high five. Show passion for your team. And have fun. That may just get a guy's attention, as you will strike him as someone he may want to meet.

* Be patient

Finally, when a guy watches football, he is usually totally engrossed. So if you want his attention, be patient. And be willing to accept his attention in small doses. He will appreciate that you understand just how important football is to him, and that may go a long way in his perception of you.
