Poetry: The tragedy of love

by Eric Lies

Created on: November 14, 2009

Eulogy for my love:

He led his life so full of love-
never afraid to stop
and be with the lost or lonely.

He was a teacher, only thirty three-
but with wisdom beyond his years
he saved so many from darkness.

He shared the love of all-
young and old,
quick and the lame.

All changed in the course of a day-
betrayed by one then stoned by all,
thirty-nine marks left upon his back.

He died with two theives by his side-
he loved the world unto his death.
