When the sun rises from the east
I pray...
When a drought turns to rain, soaking the fields with life-giving water
I pray...
When crops spring from newly tilled earth
When meadows come alive with green and gold
When fruit and vegetable, greens and grain, line our tables this Thanksgiving
I pray...
When twilight edges into night and children are nestled, warm in slumber
I pray...
I pray...
For peace to wrap its loving arms around our Earth
I pray...
For guns to be replaced with embraces
For politics to help people, not focus on money and power
I pray...
For our planet, still suffering needlessly, to heal
For enlightenment to bring much needed change
I pray...
and it gives me hope.
