Is there room in Christianity for other beliefs?
NO! Not even a little bit.
Rat poison can be 99% good corn and only 1% or less poison; but, when eaten, the poison will override the nutritional value of the good corn and death quickly follows.
The purity of Christianity is not an issue of getting into Heaven or being disqualified and being sent to Hell; rather, it is an issue of Pride verses Humility. The vision of Christianity, as a religion, is for us to know God in this life, not just in Heaven.
Humility is the beginning of wisdom: to say or admit I don't know or I don't understand is the first step in the journey to learning something new. When it comes to studying and understanding God's Word, the Bible, most people, I believe, do approach the journey with a measure of humility and eagerness to know about God. Unfortunately, impatience often gets the best of us.
Impatience is often the catalyst to pride. When it comes to the things of God, pride allows people to, more easily, look for answers elsewhere, in order to fill in the gaps they fail to, or cannot, see or logically understand. But, as the New Testament's book of 1-Corinthians states: A [sensual or carnal-minded person] does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for [such things] are foolish to [him/her], and [he/she] cannot understand, because [such things and concepts] are spiritually [scrutinized, investigated or determined].

The word spiritual describes something that is non-physical, which means it is either invisible (unseen) or intangible (indescribable and cannot be physically touched); or, it is both invisible and intangible.
The main reason people want to, and very often do, add in other, seemingly, more logical beliefs into Christianity is because they still can't see how spiritual or unseen solutions can address the many physical problems of this life; so, they employ more logical solutions to fill in the gaps that were meant to be filled in with faith. ANYTHING that is related to God must begin and end with FAITH! And, not just any faith, but mature faith, which leads to a renewed or renovated mindthought life.
Faith is not just a religious term. Faith is persuasion, confidence or trust, which supports and provides a firm foundation fora heartfelt belief that a person or thing is real, or that a certain situation or circumstance is credible or
