Winter Shoe Fashions

When winter arrives, we need to increase the demands on our shoes. Winter causes us to use shoes for more than protection from the walking surface. The weather all around us causes fashion changes and the fashion changes affect our choices for our feet.

Inclement weather

Snow and even rain occur more likely in the winter months. Even the rain of winter is colder than the warm summer rains that we enjoy walking through in the warmer months. We still need to go to jobs, activities and play outside with our children. Many people claim that if the feet get cold the rest of the body remains cold until the feet warm up. This challenge makes us add to our shoe wardrobe shoes that will keep the feet warm.

The shoe manufacturers this year have brought fashion to rain boots. This year you can get rain boots in polka dots and other looks. If you live in areas with a lot of rain you can use the rain boots all year long because the structure is not heavy, but could offer you just the right protection for runs to the mailbox or on light snow or snow and rain days.

When the snow falls, you will need boots for getting in and out of parking areas. You will still need to grocery shop, get to work and maintain the home and care for the children playing outside. There is a wide variety of boots. There are dressy boots that you can add to dress up outfits and not need to change out of the boots. There still is a need for a boot for longer periods outside. You need to look for boots made for inclement weather. Suede with more than a spray treatment is available, but you need to check the cautions. There are also short boots to wear with pants. These boots give added protection of the ankles.

The Dress

This year the dress returned to fashion. We still want to wear the dresses that we added to our wardrobes, but no longer want to wear the sandals of summer. Moreover, we want to wear some type of stocking. A pair of tights gives warmth to our legs while we still wear dresses. A shootie, a combination shoe and short boot, in the color of the tights gives a continuation of the leg color through to the end of the foot while giving added warmth to the ankles.

We may close up our toes and heels for the winter, but we still want fashion. The styles of winter are as variety as our warm weather shoes.
