Yes, the decisions that you make truly is the major determining factor of the successful pursuit of your chosen means in which to earn a living. Then again, people do make mistakes and just one serious mistake could, in fact, put an end to an otherwise successful career.
For example, an outstanding movie actor could star in a movie that turns out to be a real stinker, so to speak. For the money, that particular actor became involved with a movie that was poorly made and had a plot that most people, for one reason or another, could care less to view within a movie theater.
The question now to answer is: "How many truly stinking movies can an outstanding movie actor star in without causing his or her acting career to come to a sudden end?" Clearly, that actor was, most likely, motivated to do so by the money offered to be a part of such a stinking movie. Somewhere along the way a huge mistake was made, in regard to what the viewing public would like to see. It is also possible that an actor who was better able to play the part would have made that movie worth seeing, as pure entertainment.
Your guess is as good as mine, but you can also believe that maybe that particular movie was poorly promoted to the public. If you have not already guessed, a whole lot of things can go wrong which is beyond the control of a well known and successful actor. Keep in mind that the actor is just one of the dozens of things which are required to create what is known as a "Block Buster" or some such "Smash Hit Movie."
Do you feel lucky? Do you desire to become famous, wealthy and have the ability to control your own destiny? The truth of the matter is that successful people are few among the billions of people who are alive on Earth.
Therefore, the best decision that you can make is to do what is physically and/or mentally possible for you to do. Your future success truly does depend on your contribution to the well being of the people and the society in which you live and work. Educate yourself and create a list of those goals that you want to achieve before you pass away.
There are thousands of worthwhile things to do in which to earn a living. I suggest that you select one of those careers as your life's work while you are alive. "Where there is life there is also hope."
