Recipes: Quick and easy salad recipes

I was born in Chile, South America, and have lived there all of my life. One thing I have really enjoyed is making Chilean salads. All of my family at home prefers making a Chilean salad rather than taking the time to gather all of the different types of vegetables that you have to have to make a good American salad. Look below and find out how to make some delicious, quick and easy salad recipes from Chile.

1. Celery Salad

Ingredients:

Celery

Oil

Salt

Lemon

Instructions:

You can use as much celery as you like. After you take the celery out of the refrigerator, peel it and make sure you get all of the strings off of it. Then cut it into small pieces in a bowl. Once it is all in the bowl and you are ready to eat, sprinkle oil all over the top. Squeeze the juice from half of a fresh lemon onto the celery. Add salt. Mix it all together and taste it. You may have to add more salt or lemon, but work at it until it tastes great. The celery salad is a very easy salad to make. You can do the same thing with lettuce, cabbage and carrots. If you want to use beets, cook them first until they are soft and then cut them into small pieces. Do the same thing with the oil, lemon and salt.

2. Tomato and Onion Salad

Ingredients:

3 -4 Tomatoes

1 small onion

Oil

Salt

Instructions:

Peel and slice the tomatoes, and put them into a bowl. After you finish doing that, peel the onion, slice it in strips, and put it in a colander. Place the onions under cold water and squeeze them to get the hot taste out of them. Do this until they look a little bit limp. Just before you are ready to serve the meal, add oil and salt until it tastes good. This salad is delicious served with hot rice.

Chilean salads are the easiest salads there are to make. All you need are some yummy vegetables and some lemon, oil, and salt. It's that easy! If you are in a rush or if you are super tired and you have to cook dinner, try using these quick and easy salad recipes. Enjoy!
