I have a thing for fried foods. They seem to call out for my taste buds; they are one of my weaknesses. I cannot think of any food that would not be better fried. With that said, when I first saw Wendy's Sweet and Spicy Asian Chicken Wings, I thought to myself, "That is right up my alley." I love Asian food, spicy food, and fried food. This particular fast food product has all three of those characteristics. Was I disappointed?

No. I am not a big fan of Wendy's. Generally, I visit Wendy's whenever I am on a road trip and have not had the opportunity to pack food for the ride. So, I stop for fast food, and this is perhaps the only time that I do eat fast food burgers, fries, and everything in between. I usually buy the inexpensive items at burger joints like Wendy's because I have the feeling that they are the best bang for my buck. When I heard about the Wendy's Sweet and Spicy Asian chicken wings, however, I just had to try them.

They said they were breaded. They are fried. They are covered with a nice sweet and salty yet spicy sauce dotted with white and red pepper flakes. And when I bit into them, I could really taste the garlic flavor that was infused into each chunk of chicken. I am not saying that this is my favorite food ever. In fact, it probably does not come close to the complexity in taste that my favorite food has. But, I am going to give Wendy's the benefit of the doubt and say that they really did outdo themselves this time.

However, I did not like the price matched with the quantity of food that I received for that price. I wanted more wings or a lower price, and I couldn't have either one of those. So, it seems that this will be an experience that will happen every once in a while. After all, I can't afford to buy these things every week.

Overall, the spiciness was just right and I think they got the balance of sweet and salty down to a "t." This is great news for people who cannot tolerate much heat in their food. So, if you are anything like me and you want a late night snack or a little meal that might have your eyes watering, you should try Wendy's Sweet and Spicy Asian boneless wings.
