Poetry: Change

by Kimberly Richardson

Created on: November 13, 2009

Alone, she sits in her room

Waiting for the words to come,

The words of letting him know

That she loved him.

He knew, yesterday in fact,

When they took a drive to the country.

Saturday, the refresh of sun and wind

Giving light to flowers dressed for Spring.

Alone, she remembers, refusing to let go

Of what she had experienced, touches

Created delicately in nature by his hand given, of course.

She wants to live, died several years ago,

Escaping into another world made

Brighter by her love.

He, walking on a road, does not

Deny what stands before him. Apparent,

But still confusing because he realizes that it requires no work.

The two are connected and yet the realization has not occurred.
