Poetry: What I'm thankful for

by Mark Hurley

Created on: November 13, 2009

undue thanks

let me be not known

for having no thanks

for the breath in me

expelling the warmth

that fills the voids

in my heart and in

the hole in my stomach

i am not free nor

am i imprisoned today

maybe tomorrow thankless

this day comes wanting

for me to have a tomorrow

filled with thanks

filled with giving again

as it should and used to be
