Christian truth will only shine a light on humanity's God-given freedom of choice.
God does not define our freedom the way we do or, rather, the way we would prefer. In many cases, a dictionary or a person will define freedom as having the right or privilege to do and say anything you want without externally imposed restraints. But, using that or a similar form of definition, there can be no absolute freedom because there is never absolute agreement among two or more people. Meaning, no one person can spend a lifetime doing or saying whatever he or she wants to, whenever he or she wants, without, eventually, infringing on the rights or desires of someone else close by.
That kind of freedom was not, nor can it ever be, ordained by God, because of higher circumstances beyond ourhumanity'scontrol. The only freedom God ever presented mankind with was (and is) the right to CHOOSE between one of two predetermined interpretations of life's overall meaning and purpose. What's more, our choices are only made in regards to our own actions, not, necessarily, in regards to our environment and circumstances, because we don't always have control over these.
It is true: With knowledge comes power. But, in this case, Christian truth does not give us the power to do anything we want; rather, it gives us the power to choose the path God wants us to walk. The flip side is actually worse. Without Christian truth we will unknowingly continue down the path of destruction, which was laid out for us by Sin. Either way, the paths have been predefined; meaning, anything (good or bad) we do or think in life has been influenced by a higherspiritualmindset.
Humanity is where it is, today, as a result of the very first choice ever FREELY made; but, that first choice was NOT made by Adam, in the Garden of Eden. No, the basis of Adam's first choice was actually the same as ours; it too was based on predefined parameters or circumstances beyond his control. Believe it or not, the only person who ever truly exercised or acted on the freedom to do whatever he wanted to do, without ever being influenced by anyone else, was Lucifer, also known as Satan or the Devil.
As background, way before Adam was created and before this world came to exist the way we know it today, God created angels; one of which was named Lucifer. The name Lucifer means star of the morning or son of the dawn. (Ref. Holy Bible's Old Testament (OT) book of Isaiah 14:12.) Lucifer was a cherub (OT: book of Ezekiel
