"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 13:23, KJV). That's not an example of intolerance, its a statement of fact. Jesus was quite clear - the only way to heaven and the only way is the way of the Lord, and the way outlined in the Bible. This doesn't mean that anyone is excluded - in fact, the Bible teaches the opposite - that all people are wanted and loved by God. But it does throw out any other belief system that people might claim.
The Native Americans worshiped an earth-god. That's not the God of Jesus and Abraham. If its a different god, then its not a real god, and its simply false. The Buddhists believe that there is no god and they are instead re-incarnated again and again until they reach a perfect state of enlightenment. That's not Biblical, so that's not Christian. The Muslims believe that they can reach perfection with their god by killing others. Jesus says the exact opposite: "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you." (Matthew 5:44, KJV)
The Christian religion is open to all people: "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother." (Matthew 12:50, KJV). Christianity invites all people to join and have everlasting life in Jesus Christ, and it asks nothing in return because the ultimate price has already been paid: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16, KJV).
At the same time, the Bible clearly states that nothing should be added to the words of the Bible: "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish aught from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you." (Deuteronomy 4:2, KJV) As Christians, the Bible is the Word of the Lord, and we are not to add or remove from those words. Other belief systems, by definition, have to add or remove to the Bible. If we disobey one part of the Bible because we welcome additional belief systems, then the entire Bible is worthless and we have no beliefs at all.
All people are welcome in Christianity. But if you don't want to accept the beliefs of the Christian religion, why would you want to belong?
