Poetry: Leaves

by Amanda Donohue

Relinquished crown,

Beheld in gothic beauty,

Colors of daffodil and fire,

Citrus and maroon.

I must go for the greater good,

A sacrifice for the winter nights

I take up too much thirst.

It's been a pleasure,

I've shaded many,

But October has set in.

I am fallen, I am proud,

My death gives life to others.

The soil of Spring could not be

if it weren't for others like me .

Sleep.

Flower, bloom, shine in the sun,

Summer

Use everything of me,

Let me be transformed.

Fall again has begun.
