Poetry: Oppression

Pursuits

Wind and skies and watching eyes,

Mysteries and fears and fallen tears,

Dragons and knights and perilous fights,

Now and then and yet again.

A silent child slips through without a light and creeps away in a secret flight.

Soft hands reach out as dark eyes peer about,

But no comfort comes from the encircling arms, just an eerie realization of the world's harms.

Circles of dark mark the path, hiding a mysterious person's wrath.

Sweet moments in time show a life's roughest climb,

Up and up a slope so steep, away from the bottom where a part still sleeps.

Clouds slowly drift on by taking with them the hopes too high.

But when the dreams escape through the night, they leave only memories of terror and fright.

Footsteps and creeping and a world sleeping.

Villains and crimes and precarious times.

Adventures and nightmares and deadly stares.

Here and there and everywhere.

A quiet child soon disappears lost in a world that lacks needed cares.

An unsighted stalker walks in her shadow of black, waiting and watching for her to turn her back.

Closer they draw to the cover of trees, wading through grasses above their knees.

When she falls here out of sight, he is left waiting for the time to be right,

Memories of an old kind remember all the was left behind.

Night and Day tell the tale of a soul the rose and fell.

Storms and rain steal all peace, and continue never to cease.

A tear or a smile only lasts a short while.

Traps and falls and tempting calls.

Light and dark and a broken heart.

Strangers and stalker and luring talkers.

Who and why and another try.

The youth is gone farther away, staying where her knees had her lay.

Rising from her muddy bed, she knew of the one following in her tread.

His speed is set to match her feet as she hurries to quicken her beat.

An imagination can see in the hollows and holes the perfect lure for witches and trolls,

Pictures and painting float around a mind, forward, and backward, and far behind.

Minutes and hours play the song of a heart thats been gone far too long.

Thoughts and feeling race within, looking for quiet inside the din.

Armor and shields can hardly hold the strokes of a verbal sword.

Screams and cries and little lies.

Words and bugs and a few hugs.

People and creatures and horrible features.

Dark and light and endless night.

Away she moves under the fog, stumbling and tumbling across the bog.

Mud shall not stop his determination, as he races across the nation.

Inches and feet lead them on, each trying to be the last one gone.

Missing and all alone, she has no way of making it home.

Pieces and bits come to mind as a past pushes past its time.

The rocks of life keep being tossed, as she gets more and more lost.

Little by little here it comes again, racing past the boundary pen.

Laughing and joking will not last, most of it is already past.

Feeling and questions and evil suggestions.

Ears and eyes and final good byes.

Creeps and bats and monster traps.

Black and white and color tight.

Thoughts and films hold her head together, as she realizes she is near the end of her terror.

All strength is given and gone, and reserves, she has none.

He is goming on her at the bend, and his pleasure will never end.

Final and complete and none too sweet.

Hope and love, flower and dove.

Hidden thoughts and unsolved plots.

Crazy and sane, fancy and plain.

Lost and found, she is cold upon the ground.

Only angels will hold her now, and her Will find another some how.

Where and when or ever again.
