Tips for exercising even when you don't have time

If you have been reading plenty of exercise articles to stay in touch with new or proven ideas, article after article details ways to make mundane daily tasks into exercise. Walk to work if you can. Park a small distance from work if you have to drive. This will provide you with the chance to get some walking out of the commute. Take the stairs rather than the elevator. Basically, look at your growing daily habits and figure out a way that you can introduce some exercise into them. I have a few ideas of my own.

If you have a desk job, do a modified form of crunches. While writing a letter or looking over some books, tighten your stomach muscles. You can breathe. You just have to find your pattern. While tightening your stomach muscles, go back to concentrating on your task at hand. At first, your stomach will soon forget to be tight and it will loosen up after a short amount of time. But, repetition is the key. Your stomach will soon learn to stay that way for longer amounts of time. I got to the point at one time where my stomach was tightening without me knowing. It was as if I had developed a habit that my body actually appreciated.

While practicing the principle of working smart not hard, it isn't such a bad thing to make work a little harder. If a box isn't that heavy, carry it rather than using a dolly. I have heard arguments about hurting the back or asking for a hernia. So, use common sense when deciding for yourself.

Another good idea is making several trips rather than trying to get everything at once. What's wrong with just getting enough so that your hands are full and the boss isn't ticked? Speaking of bosses, stay active at work. The boss will absolutely love it and she doesn't even have to know that your actual intentions are for your own benefit, not the company's.

Finally, when sitting, plant your feet flat on the floor. You will be surprised at how much more energy you will gain from it. Some people place their feet back and cross them cutting circulation at the ankles. Other people place them out in front of them indicating to the body that it is in rest mode. Planting your feet flat provides a better circulation posture and doesn't send mixed signals to the brain that you are trying to fall to sleep. I know it sounds goofy. Just give it a try.

Exercise is actually common sense. Everyone should develop healthy exercise habits whether they appreciate their body's condition or not. We get off track when we are introduced to convenience. Having fast food every once in awhile won't kill you and enjoying a chef's masterpiece is what helps us appreciate the better things in life. But, we need to form life habits that we can actually feel comfortable keeping.

Deviate for a reward. Don't make it a common practice. When you attempt to add exercise to as many activities throughout the day as you possibly can, you will find your weight or body goal in no time. Last, make your exercise habits fun. When you learn ways to challenge yourself and appreciate it, your practices will become more of a thing you want to do rather than something you are forcing yourself to do.
