How to choose the right name for a cat

So you've decided to bring in a cat, either that you have adopted a cat or you have brought in a stray. You've been racking your brain all day on what you should call him and you've come up with nothing. You want him or her to have a unique name or just a really cute name that you don't want your cat to be embarrassed by when you call on him or even just say their name. So sorry Bob, is not a good name for a cat. Your cat will probably run and hide. Just kidding, that probably won't happen, but here are a few tips on what to call your cat and what name will be theirs forever.

Here are a few things that you should look at and pay attention to when choosing a name, this will make name calling a little bit easier, but paying attention to how your cats personality is a good idea. Like if your cat is lazy (which most are) then you may want to come up with a name for something that is lazy like you may not want to call them pounce because well they are not a cat that is always pouncing around everywhere.

Another thing to look at when choosing a name for a cat is maybe they're colorings and markings. Like you don't want to call your cat cheetoe when it isn't orange. I've come across this name for various cats when I was helping a friend find a name for her cat which happens to be orange. Like if you have a white cat, you can give your cat a name like snowball. Also if your cat is all black and on their paws its white, to were it would look like they are wearing mittens, which I think is so cute, then you would probably want to call your cat mittens.

Some people like to give their cats regular names. I know I do and actually my cats have regular people's names. I have noticed that not a lot of people do this. I am the very few. My cats names are Alexia and Kelly. That is something a bit different then what normal names then people give their cats.

Another thing to think of when choosing a name for a cat is what is your cat is it a male or a female. Because then once again you don't want to give your cat that is a female a boy's name such as Tom when you should be calling her Kelly. In cases such as these maybe giving them a nuetral name, if you are not sure which is your cat is your best bet.

So giving your cat a name, is not that hard after all is it? Well, you may think so, but just remember pay attention to their personality, their colors and markings, and what sex they are and you should definitely be okay.
