im thankful poems don't have to rhyme
that words can simply linger on the page
standing out brilliantly in black and white
saying whatever needs to be conveyed
fearing no judgment
making no claims
im thankful poems have no boundaries
that opinions do not matter
written just for me
an epitaph of soul still living
hoping someone else can relate
not caring if they do
im thankful poems give outlet
to things left unsaid
feelings left unrevealed
caresses left unfelt
im thankful poems are only what they are
nothing more
nothing less
how simple
how complicated
poems

Poetry: What I'm thankful for
I need no life-changing fortune
To be grateful for what I have
No need to pursue happiness
When for my simple life I am
For wind and rain and green growing things,
Let us be thankful.
For gladdening sun and bright blue sky,
Let us be thankful.
by Ila Ann
Be thankful
For every day
For every person
In their own special way
Be thankful for blue skies
For warm sunlight
by Terrence Aym
The sun has risen once again.
The touch of your soft, warm hand,
The blossoming garden outside our door,
What I'm thankful
My humble thanks I give to Thee
For a life of relative peace and harmony
While some starve and suffer horrors untold
I feast
