She watches from her window,
She sees the never ending days rush by,
She watches unaccompanied and unafraid,
She wonders, she ponders, she dreams,
She might go out there, one day.
She taps her fingers on the window pane,
She longs for the world to come in,
She dreams of smiles and laughter,
She wipes away her tears,
She is tempted to reach beyond her glass confine.
She stares unblinking as the day fades,
She baths in the autumn drifts of twilight,
She no longer waits for time or man,
She stretches her arms through the open window,
She leaps to freedom, falls into fresh air and is free.
