Creating MP3 files from your treasured recordings

Here is a really short and skinny on how to rip your treasured vinyl records into a wasted MP3 format. First, your turntable is run into a tuner or pre-amp as a basic. Run from the back of that into the INPUT on your sound card in your computer (small green rimmed mini-pin jack in the back if your computer, 1/2 the size of a phono jack) . Then, download a program like Audacity or Adobe Audition, or really, any audio editing software. I use Adobe Audition v.2.0 and love it. SO! You are now sending signal into the back of your computer, great. Go into your computers basic sound settings *location varies depending on sound card and audio software present*, and make sure that none of your line in channels are muted and that the volume is at least at 50%. Now, check the line in channel as your source (where your signal is coming in). Open up whatever audio editing program you want to use, press the "record" button and put on your record. Because you selected your source as line in, any feed coming into that line in jack is recorded once that record button is pressed. Now, record each record side and go back in later if you wish and find the breaks between songs and cut it all up into each individual song which is a very simple process. (highlighting, copying and pasting). Hope this helped!
