I say outdoor for a lot of reasons. Though I do have an indoor dog, I also have five dogs that live outdoors, and soon to be six. My dog that lives indoors is a very smart dog, she is a registered red bone coon hound, so she definitely doesn't belong in a house. But my husband and I agreed that she should stay inside until she is big enough to live outside. Honestly she has been big enough for months, but I can't bear to let her go outside. But I do say that the majority of dogs should be outside dogs. Simply because I have had many inside dogs and they can single handedly ruin a house.

One of my dogs that I allowed to stay inside, had a chewing problem, he liked chewing on everything. He is a registered dachshund, and I love him to pieces, but he couldn't stay inside. He chewed up my laptop cord, my straightener cord, and everything that he could get his little paws on. He was a force to be reckoned with. So now he is outside, with the rest of the dogs, and he loves it. He gets to stretch his little legs and run free out in the woods. That is the main reason I think dogs should be outside pets, so they can be where they belong, with nature. A dog in a pen is much better than a dog on a chain, but really I wish all dogs could just run freely, but then you have the problems of dogs fighting, so action must be taken to keep dogs alive.

Another reason I believe that dogs should remain in the outdoor world, is because they like to use the bathroom inside, if you can't get them out quickly enough, or if they refuse to potty train. An inside pet can ruin a house, in as little as one day. I'm a dog lover, and I do wish that all of my dogs could live inside with me, but I do like my house the way it is; not ruined by a dog. So if you are seriously considering a dog for a pet and can't decide on whether you want to keep it inside or out, weigh the pros and cons against each other.

The pros for keeping a dog inside, would be that you would always have them with you for company, and they would be fulfilling their duty; man's best friend. The cons of an inside dog, is the value of your house will slowly but surely reduce, because of the damages a dog can do. But either way a person chooses, a dog will still love their owners, that's why I personally love dogs so much, because they always stay true to you.
