Veteran's Day allows U.S. citizens to lift up and celebrate past and current (and even future) military men and women. Men and women who have and are fighting for our rights to live and co-exist freely in the United States. These men and women make extraordinary sacrifices daily to ensure that we are safe, that we maintain various freedoms of speech and actions, and that we are not threatened or harmed by others.
It is crucial that our children understand why we must recognize and acknowledge our military personnel at all times. We must never forget or overlook the sacrifices, the struggles, the hard work and dedication that our armed forces portray in what they do for us.
We have lost many, many lives over the years and even of late unfortunately as these men and women were determined to fight for what they felt was right. They lost their lives for their willingness and courage to go into foreign lands, stand on foreign soil and defend a country and people who couldn't fight for themselves.
For many years, our armed forces have left their homes, their jobs, their families and friends to travel several miles away to go up against enemies to defend our rights. That alone warrants our respect and our thanks!
Our military personnel should be honored and recognized for the bravery, for it can't be easy to go to foreign countries, face down foreign citizens whom you've never seen before. They can never be sure who they'll face, what their motives and intentions are or anything. But, they go into these situations boldly and with pride for what they do.
Many times, our armed forces personnel do what they do and don't always receive the recognition they deserve. They serve with honor and dedication and never ask for anything in return. They love their country and the people who inhabit it and that drives them to withstand and endure many troublesome conditions.
They have to be away from home for very long periods of time, they have to be away from family and friends. Many times they miss births of babies, teenagers' graduations, family weddings, but they do it to protect many.
We must NEVER forget what our military men and women have done in the past and do for us to this day! They make unprecedented sacrifices daily, they endure unbelievable conditions and they never complain. They want to protect their country, they want to make life better for others and they serve us with pride and honor every day!
