Review of Starbuck's Energy + Coffee Drink

Size: 15 fluid ounce cans

If you took a Starbuck's Frappuccino and mixed it with an energy drink you'd get Starbuck's Energy + Coffee beverage. Basically this is Starbuck's coffee mixed with some milk and a blend of B vitamins, ginseng, and guarana. In case you aren't getting enough of a caffeine boost from your daily coffee, Starbuck's has mixed in more caffeine, some sugar, and an energy drink blend.
The drink comes in 4 primary flavors: Vanilla, Mocha, Coffee, and Cinnamon Dolce. The cans themselves are colored differently to match the flavor inside. Starbuck's did a good job with the classy look of the cans and the flavors do actually taste different from each other.
Vanilla is smooth and silky but a bit weak in terms of flavoring. Mocha I found a bit too inconsistent in taste; you'll want to shake this one up a bit to mix up the flavoring. Coffee, as expected, tastes like coffee with milk although the milk taste is very subdued in this particular flavor. Cinnamon Dolce is good but like the Mocha one, you need to shake it up good to get a more consistent flavor.
Flavors aside, the ingredients are basically the same for each drink when it comes to the energy blend. They are a welcome change from Starbuck's bottled frappuccinos and doubleshot drinks because you get a full 15 ounce drink for less than a dollar more in most markets.
You'll want to drink this ice cold, otherwise it will not taste good at all. It is a good sipping drink, not meant to be rushed unlike some energy shots and energy drinks on the market.
The irony with the Starbuck's Energy + Coffee drink is that Starbuck's got beat at it's own game when it comes to super charged coffee drinks. Both Monster energy and Rockstar Energy came out with lines of coffee based energy drinks taking energy blends and mixing them with milk and coffee. Both of these brands also deliver more caffeine and a wider range of energy blend ingredients in their coffee energy drinks than the Starbuck's version.
However Starbuck's does have them beat on one thing. They will make you a special drink in Starbuck's stores that features the energy blend found in the canned version and mix it in with their Doubleshot Expresso and Cream drink. The whole thing is served up on ice. Now that is a drink that packs some serious caffeine.
Overall these canned versions of Starbuck's coffee offer a nice boost because of the energy blend but a slight crash is still present due to the sugar in the drink. There is also a small amount of fat in this drink.
The boost was nothing too amazing and sadly the boost did not last as long as one would hope for a drink that takes coffee with caffeine and adds more energy ingredients on top. The pick me up feeling was about the same as a can of Starbuck's Doubleshot drink but for the price you still get more beverage for your dollar with this tall canned beverage.
