Poetry: Thanksgiving prayers

by Merrie Root

Created on: November 11, 2009

I am in the hospital and it's my first Thanksgiving alone.

I can't say there's a sadder one that I have ever known.

Just about a month ago the Lord took mom away

and I miss her so very much on this Thanksgiving day.

I am on the psychic ward because I tried to take my life

alone I couldn't take it, I was tired of the strife.

But God was watching over and he chose for me to live

and so on this Thanksgiving Day, my thanks to God I give.
