Top ways to boost your Avon sales:
Avon can be a lot of fun to sell, and while most people don't turn Avon sales into a full-time career, you can make money at it. Here are some of the best ways to boost your sales:
1. Order more books. When I very first started selling Avon, I would get just a small amount of books and pass them out to people. Because of this, I limited my sales. People love Avon, and they will often see a book you've placed somewhere and take it home with them thereby limiting your exposure to more customers. They don't do it to limit you, they just really love Avon. Many times one of these people will make a big order that makes up for it, but often they have the intention to order then just never get around to it.
When I ordered more books, my sales went up. When you have a lot of books each campaign, you're more willing to make the effort to give them out because if they just sit in your house they can't do you any good. Get to know the people in your neighborhood and take them catalogs. People who live near you who become customers will always remember they have an Avon representative just down the street and are more likely to be loyal to you since you're right there and convenient. You'll also save on gas money with deliveries this way.
2. Take every opportunity to meet new people. Sales is a very social activity and so you'll need to "get out there" amongst the people if you want to sell things to them. When you meet people, give them a book. You don't have to give them the hard sell or talk a lot about why Avon is so great (most people are already pre-sold on Avon, they have a lot of great and inexpensive products.) Just make sure they're aware that you're out there.
3. Follow-up. When you've got books out, take the time to follow-up with people. Whether they are a current customer or a potential customer, contact them. Again, you don't have to be pushy and give the "hard sell." In fact, being too pushy will hurt sales rather than help them. Just chat. Get to know people, let them get the chance to get to know you and like you. Let people know you're about to place your Avon order for the current campaign and see if they need anything. And make sure that every buying customer gets a new book with their order.
4. Fundraisers. Any time you can get a group of people together selling something for a cause it will boost your sales. Avon has official fundraising opportunities that are worth looking into. And if you've gotten involved in a group or two to meet new people, there may be opportunities to get that group doing an Avon fundraiser. Since they already know you, it will be an easier sale than approaching a group you've never interacted with before. Most Avon representatives just sell out of the catalogs and don't bother with fundraisers because they seem too complicated and hard to do. This is an opportunity for you to make extra money by doing what many of your fellow reps won't, or simply don't have the time to do.
5. Charity Donation. If you want to boost your Avon sales, the bottom line is that you need more customers and you need more customers that are buying. You need to keep the ones you have, and gain new ones. That's how you grow a sales business. Common sense right? But what makes you different from all the other Avon representatives in your area? Get the word out that you donate a portion of your proceeds to a charitable cause that women care about. You'll both gain customer loyalty, and increase individual sales. People buy more when they know it's for a good cause. An added benefit is that knowing you're donating to help others increases your own personal confidence in what you're doing and that radiates out to those you're selling to.
