Bad hair day...
I combed it to the left
It said "I shall go to the right"
I thought, I'll straighten you right out!
It curled up really tight
I styled and teased
It wasn't pleased
I brushed and fluffed
It wasn't chuffed
My patience grew a little thin
but I was still determined to win!
An argument ensued
I couldn't help but think it rude
to go against my wish to truly
conquer that which was unruly
After many hours trying
cutting, perming, bleaching, dying
I became a hopeless mess
An utter wreck I must confess
But then I turned to face the mirror
and was taken by surprise
when all I saw was me
staring into my own eyes
I'd been there all along
hiding underneath each change
wanting to be how I was
No wonder I felt strange!
So the next time I find myself
having a bad hair day
I'll know better than to argue
and just let it stay that way...
