Poetry: Change

by Adelani Aderemi

Change

In medieval Europe, time there was

When the king's foot was measure of length

His arm defined the cubit

And when time changed

And his place another did take

Measurement units changed

A man can promise

To change your lack to abundance

To change your night into day

Woe unto man who trusts in man

For the heart of man is deceitful

When his whim changes, his plans change

One there is who changeth not

From eternity to eternity the same

Yesterday, today tomorrow He is

I am the Lord, I do not change says HE

Therefore you are not destroyed

He is God, the Lord
