Cosmetic surgery at a glance

Cosmetic surgery can give a person more than just a glance, it can give them the attention of the world as they transform into one of the "beautiful people" that we see on stage and screen day after day. There was a time that plastic surgery was more for the rich and famous than for the mere commoners. Today, all of that has changed. More and more people are opting for plastic surgery that wouldnever have considered it as an option in years not so very far past. There are many people who are deciding to improve their appearances and are quite happy with their decision. It doesn't really have as much to do with the glances of others as it does with how they feel when they look at themselves.

It is easy to judge those people that get cosmetically enhanced, if you aren't one who wants to change anything about yourself. Or, at least you don't want to enough to shell out thousands of dollars and go under the knife for it. You label them as people who waste their money, want to get more attention than everyone else, or are so vain that they shouldn't even be allowed to share the world with you. I, personally, think that almost every person has something that they would change about their outward appearance if they could, but many will deny it. Just think, though, if you could get that bump out of your nose or those bags out from under your eyes, or like me, you could have those post-pregnancy breasts shaped up and even enlarged in the process.

Cosmetic surgery is not all that different than dying your hair or putting on makeup every morning. It is enhancing what you already have. Certainly, it's more permanent, but if it's something that you like, that's not a bad thing, is it? Having had breast augmentation myself, I can attest to the fact that not every person who gets cosmetic surgery is the stereotype that society likes to think they are. I didn't do it so that I could run around some topless beach in Brazil. I did not do it in the hopes that men would drool over me or women would want to be just like me. I did it because I wanted to feel more feminine, for myself, and so that my own husband would find more joy in my physical body. Those were the hopes that I went in with and they are the fulfillment that I walked out with. The changes that my own cosmetic surgery has brought far exceed just the way that I look. I actually feel different. I feel more feminine, happier, and more youthfully energetic. I didn't ever expect that, but it has happened and I couldn't ask for more in this surgery.

For people who really want it, there is nothing at all wrong with having cosmetic surgery. The most important thing about it, though, is to make sure that you are doing it for the right reasons. Do it for yourself, or your spouse, not for the rest of the world. Really determine what your goals are and clearly discuss them with your surgeon. Expect there to be some mixed feelings, especially right afterwards, before everything heals correctly. Don't get scared or think that you made a mistake in that first week or so. Things take time to heal and you will also need time to get used to the "new you" and remember that nothing has really changed all that much.
