2010 Men's Coat Styles
Durable and warm are two words that describe what most men look for when shopping for a winter coat, whether they are going to work at a Fortune 500 company, shoveling snow or simply taking in a holiday light show with the kids. While agreeing on the durability and warmth of the coat, style and cost is dependent upon the individual's taste. But, in accordance to the phrase-There is somebody for everybody; there is a coat out there for every man.
There is the man whose closet is filled with shades of black, grays and browns; starched white shirts and pointed toe shoes. Macy's offers a variety of classics for the sharp dressed man, including stylish pea coats, car coats and overcoats. Priced anywhere between $100 and $400, popular designers like Kenneth Cole, Calvin Klein, and Perry Ellis have kept the traditional model of these styles allowing you the opportunity to add your individual style with your favorite scarf, gloves and hat. Nordstrom's also offer these designs in the finest wool or cashmere.
The more rugged and active man may prefer a more sporty jacket or casual coat to take on daily responsibilities. Young men especially prefer the popular nylon and down coats in brighter shades of green, orange, blue and red. More than likely, affordability is important to the man leading a more laid back daily regimen than the average businessman who may be required to purchase additional outerwear for more formal occasions. They can get both at stores like Old Navy and the Gap, which sells men's coats ranging in price from $34 to $100. Their popular styles include trendy quilted frost-free jackets, wool blend pea coats, military coats and top coats.
In 1923, London Fog was founded by Israel Myers. The company has been the mentor for many companies' outerwear and raincoat lines. Their accomplishments include 98% customer recognition, a chain of stores called Weatherwear Clothing and the creation of two fabrics. London Fog is currently in its 85th year and serves as the largest outerwear and raincoat company worldwide. London Fog coats are durable and worth the cost. Styles for 2010 include the popular Sailor coat, the Durham fly front and the Athens insulated top collar. These styles range in price from $69-$150. Despite its rich history, London Fog knows how to keep up in the fashion world and currently offers online shoppers an interactive view of their outerwear and outerwear accessories. Current campaign ads include popular entertainers Eva Longoria Parker and Tony Parker sporting hot London Fog outerwear and accessories.
While the styles may change in men's outerwear, one thing is everlasting . . . There is nothing like a man in sharp, stylish outerwear, whether his style is former or informal.
