Poetry: Confusion

~ Condemned, Confused, Consumed ~

Like a wisp of air,
My sanity floated in a sea of confusion.
Like a car accident,
It was mangled beyond comprehension.

For centuries, I floated.
I fought against the waves of rationality,
But the current was too strong
And it broke something inside me.

Ignorance was at work here,
I should have drank my medication.
But my mind's lost and it's dying,
There's no sign of salvation.

Hanging by a thread,
Resisting the urge to give up.
I thought it was over,
Until one day, I snapped.
