It looked beautiful on Thanksgiving day
Family and friends meeting this way
A bountiful table filled with the best
Silverware, china and loved ones well dressed
Chairs round the table with tummies now filled
Scan left overs knowing how good they are still
The left over turkey waiting its place
Tomorrows sandwich will then be cranberry laced
With relish delight and that stuffing too
Though memories are fixed we still busily chew
Yes on our potatoes the gravy will do
Sweet potatoes only left marshmallows few
Now where is that pie I thought I did see ?
Did I miss the last piece when someone beat me ?
Very small pieces still plated somewhere
Unless that is Rover eating under the chair

I hauled it to

I had the menu all planned out,
I knew what I was making.
The turkey, stuffed and in the pan,
The pumpkin pies were baking.
Your Leftovers
Another holiday has come and gone.
All the family has packed there bags
And left for the long trip home.
