Poetry: What I'm thankful for

by R. Elizabeth Love

Created on: November 10, 2009

I opened my eyes this morning

I'm thankful

I inhaled the smell of breakfast

I'm thankful

Simply because

I'm alive and well

I'm thankful

For my family

I'm thankful

For my friends

I'm thankful

Some can't find work

I did

I'm thankful

I closed my eyes

And rested my head

Said my prayers

Before I went to bed

Another day

I've made it through

I'm thankful
