I am thankful for my life
And my measure of health.
Knowing some friends didn't make it
Through the year.
I am thankful for my husband
His kind and understanding ways.
The patience he's shown
Providing support that's always near.
I am thankful for my children
And the grandchildren they bore.
They keep me guessing
And praying each and every day.
I am thankful for friends
Both old and new
Who share their laughs and their sorrows
And together we find our way.
But most of all
I am thankful to our Creator
For giving us his word.
A book of love and wisdom
To give us strength when we are down
And allowing our prayers to be heard.

Poetry: What I'm thankful for
I need no life-changing fortune
To be grateful for what I have
No need to pursue happiness
When for my simple life I am
For wind and rain and green growing things,
Let us be thankful.
For gladdening sun and bright blue sky,
Let us be thankful.

Be thankful
For every day
For every person
In their own special way
Be thankful for blue skies
For warm sunlight
by Terrence Aym
The sun has risen once again.
The touch of your soft, warm hand,
The blossoming garden outside our door,
What I'm thankful
My humble thanks I give to Thee
For a life of relative peace and harmony
While some starve and suffer horrors untold
I feast
