There are several great theme parks in the UK and In my opinion Legoland is one of the best as it has rides and entertainment for both Children and Adults and is ideal for a great family day out.
Legoland Windsor is one of five Lego themed amusement parks, and is the only one in the United Kingdom. It is located in Windsor, Berkshire and is a stone throw away from the Ascot Racecourse.
For those unfamiliar with Lego it is a construction toy, originating from Denmark. Despite being an interconnecting brick and tile toy, it has international brand recognition and popularity. The toy is can be enjoyed by child and adult alike and has many collectors worldwide.
Arriving at the Park-
By car there are two main ways of accessing the Legoland entrance. The first route of access is from the Windsor town direction and the second via the Ascot direction.
In the peak seasons both routes suffer from lengthy queues, though the Ascot route can be marginally less busy.
Arriving at the gates you are greeted by a giant Legoland banner and construction bricks. The entrance road is a long dual carriageway that leads to the car parks. There are several concrete floored car parks that are marked into zones, plus overflow car parks on the surrounding fields.
The car parks are free to park however there is optional payable priority parking which is directly in front of the entrance. This fills quickly so you need to arrive early. This area is also utilised by Coaches and disabled vehicles.
From the car parks there are paths that lead to the main entrance. The walk to the main entrance can take up to 15 minutes if you are parked in the overflow car parks.
En route to the main entrance there is a small bank of Kennels that can be used by visitors with dogs. The kennels are small in size and limited in quantity so the earlier you arrive at the park the better.
The Park-
Once you have bought your tickets and entered the park via the barcode operated turnstiles you are in the entrance plaza of the grounds.
In this area you will find a customer services office that you can purchase annual passes from and more importantly you can get a child identification sticker that allows you to complete contact information for your child should they get lost in the park.
Also in this area are two large shops (covered later in this review), a caf and more importantly customer toilets (that are free).
What I always find amazing on each visit are the gigantic character and animal statues made
