The little boy's dressed in his Sunday best
Little boy jacket with little boy vest
His little boy shoes are polished and tied
Mama says little boy please wait outside
Little boy's sister needs her hair in curls
To go with her new dress that swishes and swirls
So as mama is busy with buttons and bows
The little boy listens and outside he goes
The overnight rain left its shimmering dews
But it also left something not good for boy's shoes
For there on the sidewalk as tempting as candy
Was something appealing to this little dandy
The rain left a puddle so tempting and wet
The boy waded in and then seemed to forget
That his uncle was due to be married that day
So on he continued in his fun loving way
Before mama was ready and sister was dressed
Our little boy's outfit was soaking and messed
His little boy shoes were wet up to their tops
From jumping and splashing and little boy hops
Mama wasn't angry or very upset
She said it was her fault her boy got all wet
His little boy shoes once polished and tied
Found a wonderful puddle when he went outside

I love my bright green Welli-boots,
with frogs eyes by the toes,
I love to jump in squishy holes,
