Poetry: Advice for teens

by Barry Williams

Created on: November 10, 2009   Last Updated: November 11, 2009

Know when to listen
And not to babble
See your parent's eyes glisten
When you rise above the rabble

Strive to do the best you can
Be content with what you own
Be the sensible one of your clan
Be aware you reap what's sown

Know in this world you are not alone
So care for others and be true to yourself
Live for each day lest you heart turns to stone
Real beauty is inside if you're left on the shelf

Master your own mind but listen to advice
Girls and boys are made of , lest my memory fails
Sugar and spice and all things nice
Frogs and snails and puppy tails
