Poetry: Unseen

by Mechelle McCarrell ICS.LPN

Created on: November 10, 2009

Unseen was the lies and deceit

The e-mails, letters and pictures were neat

It's really too bad they weren't for me

I would have cherished them blissfully

But to my surprise Unseen

They were for others unexpectedly

This hurt me like a knife in the heart

And everyday it tears me apart

To make matters worse, you still proceed

Thinking that I don't suspect a thing

I am the one who takes care of you

Helps, cares and still loves you when you are sick

I wash your clothes and feed you

I buy you things, I try to keep you happy

I am always thinking of your needs and not of my own

I pour my heart out of myself

Unseen was all of this

It took years for me to see

But now that my eyes are open

And I know what you are and how you really feel

The word unseen to you will be all to real

Good bye to you is all I will not say

I will leave everything and walk away

The people you contacted and dated behind my back

Will be all yours to cherish, love and respect

As you did with me for all of these years

No more tears

Unseen.
