If you love to hear flatulence, then you will love the Pull My Finger app. Of course, more often than not, we cannot fart on command, so we need an app that would allow us to feel like we are doing so. Fortunately, the developers of Pull My Finger thought of that. They are asking 99 cents for an app that would, when the user pulls on the image of the finger, let out the sweet sound of flatulence. And, what's more, the developers are going to add more types of flatulence, too.
If I were younger, I would probably think that this app were funny. If my humor was not bent on trying to make the most out of 99 cents, then this app would probably make sense to me. But, I do not think that pulling a finger and hearing a "fart" sound coming out of my phone is something that I would pay for. After all, aren't I able to get that sound for free?
I think that Pull My Finger is a great representation of some of the types of apps that are available for sale at the iTunes store. Some free apps are better than paid ones. Some paid apps are worth it, even the ones that only cost 99 cents. But, I find it preposterous that there are some apps that are just plain useless and they are made available to the public. Of course, I did not have to buy this app because I fortunately found someone who already had it. But, I am sure that he felt the same way I do. If this app were free, it would make sense to me. But because the developers have the nerve to ask 99 cents for it, for an image of a finger that will, when pulled, let out a farting sound - I am appalled and frustrated.
I can't even comment on the graphics anyway. The graphics are almost nonexistent. There is just one finger and it looks like a good image of a finger. But even that does not make up for the price that they are asking.
I cannot recommend such an app to anyone, not even my worst enemy. I would have imagined that the iTunes store would finally step up to the plate and start creating more strict guidelines that will practically eliminate these types of apps, but I am sure that that is not even in the making. For the meantime, I discourage anyone from purchasing the Pull My Finger app, and apps that are similar to it.
