For parents who want to give their kids a fun, entertaining, yet educational app, PopMath is a great choice. Even though this game only costs 99 cents, and even though the premise of the game is seemingly simple, PopMath is a fun and easy way to help your kids retain and recall their math facts. I know that even I sometimes have trouble doing math in my head, and playing this app every once in a while has helped me improve my visual problem-solving skills.
For a game that only costs 99 cents, I did not think that PopMath would deliver much. After all, I saw the screenshots and thought, "The graphics aren't great, but the price is, and I think I'll have fun." As you can see, my excitement level was not through the roof at this point. But, after I had taken the risk and bought the app anyway, I was beginning to have a change of heart. After all of the apps that I had downloaded, only about three of them were educational in any way. I primarily wanted apps for entertainment and usefulness, but not many of them were educational, too.
Playing PopMath is actually fun. Again, the graphics are not the greatest but they are simple enough and eye-friendly so that you do not strain your eyes. After all, if the graphics are too much, your eyes can easily get tired. PopMath is also great for kids. I have let my friend's younger sibling play with this app and she said that it was a really great way to remember and learn some math facts without doing the boring work. If she speaks for many, if not most, kids, then this app should be marketed more to kids.
However, there are a couple of things that I would like to change about PopMath. First, I would love to see more different backgrounds. This will add interest and appeal to the app. Secondly, I would love to see a more organized hierarchy of difficulty. For example, instead of playing one level after another, the developers may want to create levels for "beginners," levels for "intermediate players," and levels for "experts" and etc. This would add another dimension of challenge to the game.
Overall, I highly recommend this app to everyone. It is only 99 cents and it delivers. What more could I ask for?
