iPhone app reviews: Remote

If there is one thing that I miss about my old PC laptop, it was the remote that I could use to control the music and video controls on my laptop, even if I were ten feet away from it. Fortunately, I recently found out that Apple was kind enough to think of just that - a remote that I could use to control the music and video settings on my Mac without having to even touch the laptop. Being a lazy college student, I promptly downloaded the app because it was free and because I thought it would be one of the most useful apps I would ever use.

Fortunately, I was right. I love not having to get up every time I want to change the song that is playing on iTunes. I love being able to turn my Mac's volume on high, and then be able to pause or mute the sound wherever I am in the room. It is the perfect way for me to continue being lazy!

I love the streamlined features of the app itself. I can use my iPhone as if it were a remote; I can hold it like a remote and the settings look exactly like the settings on iTunes. With that said, I do not have to learn anything new and the description of the app is just right.

I recently used this app for a party. It was easy to install and the download was quick and simple. I was able to get the app, my iPhone, and my Mac working together in just a few minutes. Of course, I rebooted my phone so that the app would have a decreased chance of crashing. At first I was worried that the app would not work, since I had read a review that complained that the app didn't work because he was using his computer's Airport. Even though I am in the same situation, I can still use the app without any problems.

The party and the music worked hand in hand. I could put my computer somewhere else, where it would not be bothered, and have my phone around and control the music wherever I went. I did not have to keep walking to where the computer was to change the song or to lower or increase the volume. Basically, I was not bothered at all. I was able to enjoy my friends' company without any interruption from my computer.

All in all, I highly recommend this app. First, it's free. Second, it works. And lastly, you won't regret that you even tried it.
