Bitter.
I've got a bitter taste
on my tongue;
a sticky mess
inside my lungs.
Yeah, I'm young,
I've got time to
quit -
but if I don't
do it soon -
I'm gonna be
chained to it;
for the rest of
my life...
How long will I live?
Nobody has the answer -
but chances are -
if I don't stop smoking, soon;
I'm gonna die of cancer.
Bitter taste, such a waste -
I been smokin' ever since
I was only a kid...
back before
they found that
smokin' was bad -
It's so sad -
all the money
I could have had...
If I never would have
become a smoker.
Sometimes -
Cigarettes can be
so seductive -
unproductive;
something to do
with idle hands.
A deep-drag
of random,
harmful
chemicals;
somehow,
is so satisfying.
Like sucking fire,
So gratifying.
So death-defying.
So irrational,
So unfashionable.
So darn - pleasurable.
Bitter, not like
old-cold coffee,
or a green-banana,
not quite ripened...
Bitter like -
Cigarettes affect
my kids;
and shorten all
our life spans.
I'm gonna quit ~
this time,
this is it...
I set a date...
I've made a plan;
I will quit -
I'll find something
different to do
with my hands.
20 years; Mr. Morris -
he's had the grip on me;
but very, very soon,
my friend -
I'm going to be free
and I'll learn again
to breathe;
learn to breathe
easy again.

BITTER
Today, I am so calm
Quiet, much thought on my mind
Trying to find the right spot
To release tension, to unwind.

Bitterness
Standing still on the beach
thinking of the hurtful speech.
Wondering why he had to be cruel,
and makes the sand being
I watch him
With out any love
All of the old valour a thin, velvet exterior.
Nothing more luxurious than make believe.
