Good Morning Lord the day is just beginning

I'm here in bed not wanting to arise

The timer's set the coffee now is brewing

Time for a shave and wash my sleepy eyes

I do not know how hard the day ahead is

Who will be kind and where the trouble lies

I need your help to navigate the valleys

I need your heart to listen and be wise.

Good afternoon I made it through the morning

Thanks for the food my lunch is tasty fare

The traffic's bad the rain is just beginning

Watch over me and help me be aware

The kids at school are heading for the bus soon

The wife's new job is keeping her in town

At least we both are looking at the same moon

And Friday nights together are our own

Good night my Lord I made it through another

At last we're all together in our home

I know our life is easier than some others

I think of them, especially those who roam

From door to door no shelter or companion

I'm grateful Lord for all our blessings here

Be with our friends and all of our relations

Come morning Lord I'll wake to find you near.
