Finding Christmas presents for a pre-teen that are appealing rather than lame can be a challenge. For most boys, games (video, computer, etc) and money are a sure hit. It would be nice to find a gift that he would still enjoy on Dec 27th. If you really want your preteen to move away from the computer/TV/video game slouch and be active , there are a number of ideas for boys with diverse interests.

Action Figures have come a long way since Darth Vader! The 7n1 Maxus Drago by Bakugan is amazing. This action figure is a combination of a number of Bakugan toys in one. Boys can be creative and build their own creature, then rebuild it again and again. Think Transformers amplified.

With 150 pieces, the Skyrail Rollercoaster by Quercetti keeps the recipient busy building. The set comes with an illustrated manual for building the marble rollercoaster, but anyone can also create their own rollercoaster. The tracks are designed so they can be assembled in a variety of ways allowing the builder to experiment with the world of physics testing different runs for speed or fluidity of movement.

Ready for some rapid fire on an unsuspecting friend or neighbor? The Nerf N-Strike Raider Rapid Fire CS-35 is more than a mouthful of a name; it is the ultimate nerf attack weapon. The light weight snap-on tommy gun style dart drum fires 35 darts in less than a minute. The only drawback, the 35 dart pick-up process to reload and attack again!

Exercise some brain power with the Mind Flex by Mattel. Use your mind and control the height of a ball or negotiate it through obstacles. The gamer wears a headset and uses concentration to guide the ball.

One small step for man, one giant leap in Moon Shoes. These shoes strap on over non-skid shoes and actually turn your feet into miniature trampolines. Imagine the fun your son could have running and jumping outside while improving his coordination.

If you have a kid who likes art, the Professional Cartoonist Kit taps into their creative gene. It includes all the supplies and instructions for creating cartoon strips in a portable brief case.

For sports fans, a new football, soccer ball, basketball or other sport equipment are great gifts. Make sure to check the size and age charts to ensure the correct equipment for their age group before purchasing.

Whether you want to exercise the brain, improve coordination or inspire creativity there are lots of great gift ideas for the pre-teen male on your list.
