Poetry: Thanksgiving prayers

by G. A. Sylverston

Created on: November 09, 2009   Last Updated: June 05, 2011

Prayers are gifts we should give all the year,

But it seems we do more when Thanksgiving is here.

It's the start of the season of giving and love,

We feel extra blessed and send thanks up above.

Now count your blessings, be whatever they may,

And send your prayers on to others this day.

Downtrodden who don't have a soft place to sleep,

Those less fortunate, in our minds may we keep.

To those whose homes are battered and broken,

And those whose dreams have been tainted and stolen.

There is always a soul who might need a prayer,

So say one tonight and send it out there.
