Christmas is the time of year when all healthy eating and exercise regimes go out the window. People don't want to think about eating healthily at Christmas, and who can blame them! Everywhere you look there are fatty foods and alcohol everywhere, Christmas is a time to let go of all of that and have fun. For those of you that have friends or family that are planning to get fit in the new year, however, a fitness gift may just be the perfect present for them. The great thing for this year in terms of fitness, is that nearly everyone is totally health conscious, and being fit and healthy is actually very fashionable. The rich and famous are always talking about their exercise plans, and their diets. Whilst it may be annoying at times, it has provided thousands of new fitness ideas and equipment for us to use ourselves. Bearing that in mind, let's take a look at some of the hottest fitness gifts for 2009.
Punch Bag
This punch bag is great because it can make a great gift whatever the age of the recipient. If you have a young Rocky on your hands then this gift could be ideal. The price that you will have to pay will vary a great deal depending on brand and where you buy it, there are loads of great deals around at the moment. If you don't want a punch bag in the house there are also ones that you can buy that are specifically designed to be hung outside. For the punch bags that are designed for indoor use, you will usually have a ceiling hook that comes with it to secure it in place, or, alternatively, there are punch bags that are attached to a stand so you don't have to worry about the ceiling falling in! If you are going to buy a punch bag then you are also going to want boxing gloves or hand wraps to avoid any unwanted trips to A&E over Christmas! As with the punch bag itself, the price of boxing gloves will vary a great deal, there are the professional designs and the cheaper ones so it all depends what you want. Hand wraps are usually very cheap so you could buy them instead of gloves if you wish. Also worth mentioning, if you are buying for a child then you can buy inflatable punch bags instead of full sized leather ones, but it is down to personal preference.
Exercise Bikes
This is one gift that you really can't go wrong with if you are buying for a health and fitness guru. Exercise bikes are great. They can save a lot of time for somebody who has a busy schedule, but who also likes to stay fit and healthy. Despite what a lot of people think, exercise
