I have a huge problem with job outsourcing. It's a problem that's been going on long enough and taking valuable jobs away from American citizens who need work. These companies who operate mainly out of America, well the United States. End up putting all of their customer service and care centers in foreign countries which takes away from us.
Why it's a huge problem is simple. We the people are supposed to be buying and using these companies products or services, paying for it, then if something goes wrong, should have good strong customer care to help us resolve any problems we may have.
Cellular companies for example. It should be illegal for them to outsource their call centers into foreign countries based on a few factors. If their gonna operate here, they should be required to fully operate here. Also. If we're supposed to get into a legal binding contract with these companies, they need to have their care departments here, with fluent speaking representatives who can help us to the fullest extent of our contracts so we're not hassled with fighting back and forth, the language barrier we have with people from other countries.
I've seen nothing but problems due to communication errors by foreign companies and their call centers. It's almost impossible to get anything accomplished quick and properly. When you call in for help and support, and you say English at the prompt, you fully indicated that your primary language is English. Therefore they should be required to make sure that fluent English speaking people are present on the phone when you call in.
Or what about appliance companies. Let's say you go to a store, buy something for your home or office and it clearly says right on the box, as proud as ever, made in the United States. A lot of people are shopping only for products like that now due to the fact that it shows that somewhere, Americans still have jobs, take pride in their work, and built something. To a lot of people it's respectful.
So anyway, you buy the product. Then a few weeks later it breaks. However there's a phone number on the pamphlet that says, 'for help or warranty information please call.' So you do. Not only do you have to fight through the long automated system, you then have to try and explain your situation to some foreigner who doesn't speak English at all and expect results.
More people these days aren't claiming warranties on broken or damaged items because of this. They would much rather just throw away the one they have, then go buy another one, simply to avoid the hassles of calling in and getting help, and I'm sorry but that's just wrong. If the box says warranty, you should be able to, without a headache, be able to call up the call center and get help fast.
Outsourcing is bad and it takes thousands of jobs away from Americans who need them. Just so the company can put more of your hard earned money into their pockets. It needs to be illegal!. Bring back jobs for us Americans. The people who need them most, and the customers who buy the products.
