Congratulations on your winter wedding! Now if you want to make it a winter wonderland your guests will never forget, check out these tips.
1. Choose your colors.
Being a winter wedding, the date may fall around Christmas. use this if this is the case to really get a steal on decorations for both the wedding and reception. Around this time of year stores like Hobby Lobby have huge weekly sales on essentials like candles, candle holders, wreaths, garlands, and toasting glasses. Golds, reds, silvers, and greens are classic colors for winter weddings. Best of all if you can't decide on just one color, all four of these coordinate very well.
Choose one base color like silver then use a mixture of red candles with lots of green garland and silver ornaments. If your wedding date is after Christmas you will have even better luck! All the Christmas decorations will be on sale sometimes up to 80% off in certain stores.
2. Table decor.
For a fresh taste in centerpieces place mirrors in the center with candles of all sizes and your colors lit on top. The drape different lengths of ribbon in between the candles. This will help to illuminate the room by reflecting the light from the candles up and out.
Also try filling large glass canisters with Christmas ornament balls. Some all silver, some all gold, red, and green or whatever you choose for your colors.
3. Flowers.
Poinsettas are a beautiful way to add a pop of winter color to your reception and wedding ceremony. Also, if your church has windows, have your florist make a small window setting of magnolia leaves and place a burning candle behind them in the window. The magnolia leaves will be a huge budget cut instead of using flowers. Plus, they are very beautiful because they are dark green and super shiny.
If you want to be very style forward, don't use flowers for your bouquet. That's right. No flowers! Imagine the savings! Use a big bundle of pine cones with a satin silver ribbon flowing down. This is very wintery and the roughness of nature's pine cones will contrast beautifully with the lovely softness of you in your beautiful gown.
Hopefully these tips will help you to make your winer wedding a dream and make for beautiful pictures and even more beautiful memories that will last for a lifetime.
