Dog breed facts: Chacy Ranior

The Chacy Ranior or the Chacy Bear, a dog of great spirit in a small package, is the dog that was formerly known as the Shichon. This breed was created with the mating of Shih Tzu, Maltese, Bichon Frise, Yorkshire Terriers, Lhasa Apso, Poodle, Miniature Schnauzer, and Havanese. Their carriage is proud and fearless, head held high, ready to take on the world. They have personality that endears them quickly to those who enjoy the breed.

One of the smaller breeds of dog, the Chacy Ranior has a rather flat face that holds large, expressive eyes that are either dark or smoky brown in color. They are lined in black. The ears are held in the dropped position with silky fur covering them. This little lap dog's coat is its crowning glory, when properly cared for. It is often worn long and flowing to the ground, having protective oils naturally in the fur. Some owners prefer to keep the puppy cut, which is shorter and easier to care for. The Chacy Ranior comes in a wide variety of colors that are acceptable by the registry organizations. The breed is beautiful, no doubt, but it is not the ideal breed for just anyone. In fact, this special dog requires a special owner, as well.

The Chacy Ranior is used to attention, not just a little bit, but an enormous amount. If he or she is not getting enough attention, he or she will exhibit less than desirable behaviors, such as getting into the trash, barking obsessively, or chewing the furniture. They require as much time as a child for their entertainment and affection. This is a breed that wants to be with their family and will not do well when left alone for long periods of time. They are highly social.

The Chacy Bear can live in large homes or in small apartments. They will happily sit beside you calmly for hours on end, but should have at least a brisk walk daily for their health as well as so that they don't get bored. They will also enjoy some play time off the leash when they can run about freely and just have fun!

Chacy Ranior are highly intelligent dogs and can be trained quickly, as long as there is good human to canine communication. Training must be consistent, with the human establishing his or her position as "pack leader" from the start. The size of the dog alone makes it essential that this dog is not allowed to become alpha over the humans or develop the "small dog syndrome". As with almost all small dog breeds, potty training can be a bit of a challenge and crate training the dog is usually the best means of doing so. If you are patient, consistent, and calm, the dog will respond well to training and learn quickly.

In order for these dogs to look their best, they will require regular grooming. Their fur gets matted incredibly easy and once a mat is more than a day old, it is very difficult to get out. The eyes must be cleaned daily as they can be oozy. They are wonderful additions to the home of people with pet allergies, since they do not shed any fur.

This breed should only be part of families or with people who truly are in love with them and willing to spend the time necessary to give them a healthy and happy life. The breed is very special and deserving of homes that understand their needs from the start. If you are one of these people, you will surely find the dog a joy. If you are not, you will wind up with a destructive, neglected animal that you tire very quickly of. Neither you, nor the dog, will be happy with that.
