You wouldn't think that many actors and actresses, musicians, and politicians would come from Texas. Well, boy, will you be surprised!

MUSICIANS - Willie Nelson (Abbott), Usher (Dallas), Demi Lovato (Dallas), Bob Wills (Kosse), sisters Ashlee Simpson-Wentz (Waco) and Jessica Simpson (Abilene), George Strait (Poteet), Lyle Lovett (Klein), Kelly Clarkson (Burleson), Beyonce Knowles (Houston), Buddy Holly (Lubbock), Janis Joplin (Port Arthur), Waylon Jennings (Littlefield), and many others!

Tidbits - Buddy Holly was killed tragically in a plane crash.

Willie Nelson was one of the first people to record and write "outlaw country" music.

Kelly Clarkson won the first season of "American Idol".

Counting all charts, George Strait has had 57 number one hits shattering the record previously set by Conway Twitty.
