How travel can be an educational tool for children

Travel is something exciting not only to a child, an adolescent, say to any person of any age group. The word connects a child to so many events, a remembrance of an earlier travel or a journey on the sea or rail or air even by road covering long distances. Today travel requires planning, booking tickets, hotel accommodation, or the places where the tour is centred, and things of that type.

Educational tours are organized by schools or institutes where the child is reading. They are meant only to make the child witness in person events or places or parks or wild life, a sanctuary many such things that will interest and amuse the child. Let us say a student reading in elementary school is confined much to class room experience trying to visualize things as he or she learns lessons taught.

In an educational tour, the student gets personally see things that teach him values based on experience. This ignites tremendous insight in the subject. A student taken to the Sea world, or Disney land or Kennedy Space centre will provide him the first hand information about everything he has heard or read or watching in the internet.

Right from the start packing, arriving at the airport, boarding and associating himself with the co- passengers and glancing through the magazines provided in the plane, open up vast vistas of knowledge.

Education through travel is more effective and more enjoyable than reading and acquiring knowledge from text books. Going to see rare animals in a zoo other than the ones he was familiar with. Watching the flowing waters of the long river about which he has read about, watching it in person would bring fresh outlook in life.

Going with a group of students from the school will give him opportunities to live in communion and friendship and this will encourage sharing knowledge with others of almost the same age group; he will develop new tastes a love for new areas of acquaintance. His vision gets broadened and his personality will undergo a change.

There are many places in the world which would inspire a child to action. If he is fortunate to visit London for the first time, the thought of London should send a thrill in the minds of children because this place is one if the most ancient cities known to civilized world..

Remembering London would surely take our minds to the London Eye and a child travelling in that will catapult him to a new experience and will send him to great heights of incredible feelings within. Viewing the entire city at a glance is an experience worth preserving.

The child should be able to make a note of all things that he has seen or observed or studied that will help him to expand his horizon of activities. This will give him a chance to write an article for the school magazine to open up the minds of others who had not visited those areas.
